Alar Laneman has been the Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Estonia since 18 November 2020. He is a member of the Conservative People’s Party of Estonia.
- In 2019-2020, he was a member of the XIV Riigikogu (Estonian Parliament) in the roles of vice-chairman of the fraction, chairman of the Security Authorities Surveillance Select Committee, and chairman of the Constitutional Committee.

Alar Laneman was born on 6 May 1962 in Vändra, and he is married. He has been a member of the Conservative People’s Party of Estonia since 2019.
