Ministers of Internal Affairs of the Baltic States discuss the issues of cooperationPress release no. 132 Margus Leivo, Minister of Internal Affairs, will be in Latvia on December 4-5. At the regular meeting of the Baltic Ministers of Internal Affairs the issue of cooperation of the Baltic States in guaranteeing internal security will be discussed. On December 5 Margus Leivo, Estonian Minister of Internal Affairs, Maris Gulbis, Latvian Minister of Internal Affairs, and Virgilijus Bulovas, Lithuanian Minister of Internal Affairs, will discuss the development of cooperation in the Baltic States regarding the police and rescue area, use of ID-card as a traveling document in the Baltic States and the perspectives of the internal security institutions of the Baltic States. On the invitation of the Latvian Minister of Internal Affairs Margus Leivo will participate in the celebration of the 85-th anniversary of the Latvian Police in Riga on December 4. At the visit the Minister of Internal Affairs will be accompanied by Helen Rohtmets, chief specialist of the Department of Foreign Relations and European Integration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. |
