Regional Minister on working visit to Viljandi County

Today and tomorrow, 29 and 30 November, Minister for Regional Affairs Jaan Õunapuu will be visiting Viljandi County to discuss issues of county development with the County Government and local governments. Among other things, attention will be paid to funding possibilities for the region and the functioning of the new municipality formed from the merger of four of the county's local governments.

On Tuesday 29 November the Regional Minister and Ministry of the Interior officials will be meeting Viljandi County Governor Kalle Küttis. County Government department managers will be giving an overview of their work and problems. During the second half of the day Minister Õunapuu will be visiting Karksi municipality, where he will be laying the cornerstone of the new Karksi-Nuia Kindergarten.

On Wednesday 30 November the Minister will be meeting the council and government representatives of Suure-Jaani municipality, newly formed from the merger of the four local governments, in recognition of the effort put in to uniting the municipalities. During the meeting issues related to the launch of the new municipality will also be discussed.

As part of the visit the Regional Minister will also be meeting the Viljandi city council and city government representatives and members of the Viljandi County Local Government Association. The delegation will also be visiting Abja, Kõpu, Paistu and Saarepeedi municipalities and the town of Võhma, where local government leaders will be met.
